A True Love Story About Seven Rescued Dogs
After a life-changing event and a turn for the worse, Tami knew something had to change in her life. As an avid painter, she didn’t realize what she was fleeing from when she spent her waking hours painting, but she always found solace in it. After the rough bout, she made a decision that saved her life. What she didn’t realize is how her paintings would save others. This is the short story of those seven rescued dogs.
The Search For New Meaning
After Tami’s life-changing decision and move that eventually saved her, she realized she needed to find new meaning in her life. She had become aware of the reasons she painted for hours on end. She loved it, of course, but there was something more. She found emotional comfort in it. It kept her busy. It helped her escape. In this realization, she wanted to let go of her past and find a new reason to paint. Her love of dogs led her to a humane society where she walked in and asked for a small favor.
The Seven Patiently Waiting Dogs
Tami introduced herself to the staff and asked if she could meet the dogs who had been at their humane society the longest. This wasn’t a normal favor, but it wasn’t a huge lift, so the staff made the appropriate introductions. After a few photos were taken and acquaintances were made, the new chapter had begun. The seven dogs had no idea how Tami would eventually change their lives.
A New Outlet And New Hope
Tami began painting each dog, not only because she loved painting, but because she had a new reason for it. She surprised everyone around her with not only how well she captured the souls in the eyes of the dogs she had barely just met, but how quickly she was able to do it. She was painting for a purpose. After completing each of the paintings, she returned to the human society.
The Journey Begins…
After returning to the humane society with the paintings, the staff displayed the portraits for everyone to see. These portraits represented the lives of seven dogs waiting patiently to meet their new families, hoping each day that would be the day. You can see the hope in their eyes, even wondering if Tami was the one.
One By One…
Not long after the paintings were displayed, the dogs began finding their families. They finally became rescued dogs. The adopting pet parents would get the beautiful portrait of their new family member to take home with them.
